I've been offered three of them, at three different AD's. I wasn't seriously looking, so I didn't do any real tire-kicking, but one AD offered me the watch for $1500 OVER retail; the other AD's offered it at retail.

Be patient, or call some out-of-state AD's. You'll find one, and likely get a good discount.

They're like rabbits here in Southern California......you can't go into an AD and not see one in the case. Not sure if they are discounting but they are more than plentiful and available.

Yes, I have it and love it. I bought about a month ago for under list (and out of state so no tax). For 2 months leading up to that purchase I tried over 20 ADs in SoCal and couldn't even find the watch...I started to get very frustrated. Then I found a few but they weren't discounting at all...I kept looking. Now that I'm 'out of the game' so to speak, I can't really comment on the latest trends I see from ADs & possible discounts. But I can say this...my friend was in an AD a few days ago and ran across a DS. Even though the dealer was openly discounting on a number of makes/models, when asked about a DS discount he simply got, "Not on that model."

I have a feeling that will change in due time, but as of now it seems it's still harder to find one w/ a discount than the other way around. Good luck w/ your search...you'll find one at the price you want...god knows every day that goes by only works in your favor as we all know the prices are not holding & definitely not going up. Cheers.

I can't find one in Toronto, Canada either.

Earliest I can get one is next April 2009.

Apparenlty Rolex Canada is letting one in every now and again to my AD, but my AD has a waiting list and as soon as it comes in, it goes out.

I hear ya...while I know they are starting to pop up, I would hardly classify them as common just yet. Right before I bought mine last month I was so fed up that I hadn't seen one in the flesh I sat down and gathered a list of the closest 15 Ben Bridge Jewelers to my home (not that I particularly like BB...but I knew they all carried Rolex). I called every one of them and asked about the DSSD. 15 out of 15 reported, "Nope...still waiting on our first one...we'll give you a call when one comes in if you like."

The friend I spoke about in the other post was out watch shopping for his wife when he ran across the DS. He also reported he went into 6 total shops that day that carried Rolex and only one had it. For his very unscientific day of watch looking, I have to say 1 out of 6 is also not very plentiful IMO. Cheers.
