Tried this last night. It mellowed out after 45-60 minutes.

It was great!!! I forgot just how good the 2013 was for this wine. Glad I got a few bottles this time around, great bang for the buck.

House of Cards 2014 Napa Valley Red Wine

Nice Blend for the price ~$38...
Sill hunting for good blends besides Prisoner for daily drinkers.

House of cards Red Wine is a whimsical blend of Napa Valley varieties, rich and flavorful. Red and dark fruits are apparent in the nose with plum, cherry and blueberry tones. The aroma is elegant and shows subtle signs of oak nuance. The pallet explodes with deep deliciousness! The finish lingers and invites a second glass or two.

I've been using Justin and Leviathan for daily drinkers, Prisoner on occasion. The Leviathan is getting harder to source but not impossible yet.

Justin 2014 cabs have been disappointing compared to the 2012 & 2013 IMO.

Decided I wanted a little beverage tonight so went with a merlot.

Agreed. The basic 2016 Justin though is much more drinkable, not a bad choice for a $20ish bottle.

I will have to grab some 2016s. Agreed, for the price it can be a good choice.

Thanks James. We do enjoy Justin and will be visiting the winery in a few weeks. The other one I'll research and try to find.

Tonight we went white a little Chardonnay.

Haven't had that Chardonnay yet but Rombauer is becoming one of my favorite winerys to pour at home.

The Leviathan is in stock at the Von's in La Jolla or Total Wine if you ever make it up that way.

A Cabernet Sauvignon from the Clare Valley in South Australia.
This is really drinking beautifully at the peak of its power. A true bargain at the $13. I paid for it about 7 years ago. Wish I had bought several cases.

I agree.
Taylor's is my go to everyday wine. Affordable and unpretentiously accessibile.

I know better than that, give me some credit. I didn't open any of those, trying to grow an inventory for later.

Hard to detect sarcasm in your original post. Especially with so many other posts here of infanticide being committed.......

Oh I've been guilty of infanticide plenty of times but it's becoming less and less for me as time goes on. And the Scarecrow is definitely one of my sit and stare at it bottles.
