That is unacceptable QC and workmanship for ANY RSC.
Come on seriously. Dust and specks under the crystal? Scratched hands etc.....that is just shoddy workmanship. For a luxury brand like Rolex this is the last thing you would expect. This is the primary reason why I dread service time for any of my watches. |

Scratched hands I completely agree but specs can be nonexistent at first after an overhaul and then dislodged and become visible. They should fix it regardless. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Every time! Including the time they charged me for a new crown and tube and in fact did no such service. The watch went back twio additional times to correct the issue.

The less a watch is opened, the better. A watch that is consistently running at +2 second per day has no need for servicing. |

Watchmakers are human and do make mistakes. So I would give them the opportunity to make it right. And both locations of RSC are the same hit or miss on service.

Again? The helium escape valve failed and I gave them the chance to make it right. They gave me back a watch with scratched/smudged hands and smudges all over the reflector ring. So I gave them another chance. Now I have debris floating in my watch. How many chances to these humans get before enough is enough?

I was told at a New York AD that the majority of the New York RSC service work is forwarded to the training facility in Pennsylvania. As a result my son sent his 1998 Daytona (college graduation gift) to Dallas. It was returned in as new condition. They do great work!!!

In one way they are running out of defect types and following the next time they get it, it should be perfect. I would suggest that at this stage, it finally comes down to a matter of supervision. |

This is not mistakes by a watchmaker, this post shows just sloppy, lazy work by the watch maker ! With an attitude that I don't give a damn!!

I am sorry that your watch failed and then the RSC also failed, twice. It is frustrating and unacceptable. With that said, take the emotion and disappointment out of it and think it through. I would speak to the person in charge or as high up as I could go at the RSC NY and set up an appointment for an in person follow-up. I would take the watch in and try to receive assurances that they could do the work, a third time, to Rolex quality control standards or ask for a referral to another RSC. Until you work it through with RSC NY I would not just send the watch to Dallas. You are possibly going to create more issues and time away from your watch. This is not personal, though the watch is very much so. RSC NY has always done good work for me and I have read the stories about service problems there but that has not been my experience. None of what I have said makes it any better and I completely understand the frustration but it does not further your ends to go off on RSC NY or send the watch else where until you have been through the process with RSC NY. Good luck, you have a great watch and they will get it right.

Imagine if it was requested it be sent to Dallas
I thought Lititz was a training facility? Would they be capable of doing a better job? Perhaps the individual that did the work on the watch the last two times ought to be recycled through the Lititz facility |

As i said before, it all comes down to supervision. Everything comes down to supervision. At this point, the level of supervision is in question. I should imagine the work will be handed to the best watchmaker in the place along with strict instructions and a final QC check by the w/shop manager before and after buttoning it up. |

Persistent issues with RSC NYC

As with many stories swirling around Rolex, there is usually a grain of truth somewhere in there. What Rolex had done is to consolidate their USA RSC vintage work and have it sent to Lititz. So it’s not the majority of business from the NY RSC. But both Dallas & NY sent their vintage service overhauls and movement repairs to the Lititz Watch Technicum center. Dallas for sure. I've had several experiences with them and they have all been great from typical service to 1680 restoration (one even re-cased). I just had my 116610 serviced there and the total turnaround was less than 4 weeks. Huge fan
