I think the price will remain high for some years to come. The hype around this reference has been crazy, much more than any I've seen in the last 15 years.

Meanwhile, my AD who is a relatively high volume AD, claims he has received exactly 1 BLRO to date ...

Normally in this abnormal market you have to have a lot of pull with an AD to get one. No secret for the few they get they're going to their very best customers who want it. I got on "the list" at my former ADs reveal last march after Basel just because they were offering to take names from everyone there, probably just collecting emails and phone numbers. Although the Blro didn't do much for me in person l did try on and liked the Blnr which l did just purchase from my AD.

Thats nothing!! I've seen grays with double that amount in their vault.

This is why the prices are going down these watches are not rare just being back doored to grays and sold for huge premiums. It wont last.

I have been denied being added to any list for BLRO at 4 ADs closest to me. I wouldn't mind waiting 1.5 years, but the fact that I am being told by the AD to go buy it from a Gray dealer is discouraging me from the brand all together. I have put my name down for a BLNR and think that will keep me happy for a while, if I even get a call for that.

Good for you for being thoughtful. You must’ve purchased a lot watches/jewelry from the AD in the Bay Area! It seems virtually impossible to get a call from a Bay Area AD.

Dealer in Pittsburgh told me she has 80 “interested persons” and has gotten 1 this year. Until that ratio gets less absurd, they will sell over MSRP. Considerably.

PRices being talked down mostly. All it takes is for Rolex to move to other SS batch and BLRO will go up to 20K again. I have a feeling they will go scarce till anout April-June

Yeah, if the only thing keeping you from buying grey is the warranty card, that's not really an issue -- most can get your name on the card if you pay a little extra and are willing to wait a week or two.

But a meaningful drop in street price seems inevitable. As folks have noted, the watch itself is casually available -- just with a markup. But any product that's casually available cannot maintain a high price forever, and the longer we go the fewer impatient buyers are out there. Barring a move from Rolex to keep prices high, sometime soon dealers with plentiful stock will begin to undercut each other to clear inventory, and an abrupt drop in street price will result. That's just how the market works when scarcity is artificially maintained. (See: Beanie Babies)

Why not pay 8-10k more and buy the real BLRO in white gold?

The new one is hideous in comparison imho and a horrible value at $17k. The jubilee is a real let down for me and a downgrade from the oyster bracelet. Have you tried the watch on? I have and it's a no for me. The original BLRO in WG is where it's at.

I thought the white gold BLRO had been discontinued already?

Original blro was a steel model ... and was sold with jubilee bracelet as an option ...

I received mine, I ordered it March 21 according to the paperwork; not bad for a Basel release.

When I ordered my Speedmaster 60th anniversary around the same time last year it took until right before Christmas to get it.

I was told I received the 2nd one from my AD's location but they have several stores under different names with obviously shared allocation. When I picked it up they said they get more interest in the new GMT than the SS Ceramic Daytona now and they're harder to come by. I'm not sure they're even taking contact info for them at this point because the backlog is too long.

I did the same on an Explorer Polar this last week. If reflexively you can't get the smile off your face when you look at it, then it's not the watch you need at that moment.

Good job for passing so that guy can have his day.
