Question: For BLRO/BLNR Owners

As a new BLNR owner I'm curious as to how the blue colors on the bezels differ on these two models? New SS BLRO darker?Screenshot_2018-11-05-21-29-17.jpeg

BLNR = Brighter and more true blue
BLRO + more muted and sort of purplish hue

Both are ok with me, but no they are not the same at all.

There were some good side by side pics posted a little while back.

Pretty much what he said. I have them both and they are very different watches as a whole and in their each blue color.

You can also search some as there are several threads on this topic already on the forum.

It all comes down to how they are produced. With the BLNR, they start with a full blue and then add the black on top. With the BLRO, I recall that they do both colors concurrently and each has a slight tint of the other.

To me the BLNR is a more true blue. It won’t blend or fade to another colour like the BLRO blue

Is the BLNR blue similar to Smurf blue?

The blue is more blue than the BLRO and deeper than the original Smurf and much like the current one.

The character of the color is ever changing depending on the light. It's quite spectacular in my opinion.

Yes, and the bluesy. Basically it is the same blue that comes from a primary color match. The blue in the BLNR is then transformed into black in the second half. The Red in the BLRO is the primary match, and it is then formed into the bluish purple but beautiful in the BLRO´s second half. Hey, it is a more difficult blue and a new bezel color in the lineup and the red also so appreciate it !!

BLNR, YM2, and Smurf are all the same color blue.

I have a BLNR and am interested to see the difference with my own eyes when my BLRO comes in.

The BLRO bezel's base is a light cream then they cover it completely with Red and then 1/2 of it is covered with Blue.
This is why the Blue turns purple and the Red pinkish in some lights.
