I would buy a 36 with better lume, improved movement and upgraded bracelet. Better still make it 37 or 37.5mm. Sometimes a couple of mm's makes all the difference.
37.5 would be perfect.

I vote YES! But with slim lugs and the "Explorer" on the top of the dial

36 is a bit small for an explorers watch. 39 is just fine.

Exactly what I was thinking.
Plus the blue dial is amazing, better than the matt black.

Not a fan of the 36 OP bezel. Too bulbous

I'd like to see the new 2018 39mm OP in black and white, two of the most stunning watches in the entire line-up, as many have pointed out, in 36mm.

The current 36mm OPs in those colours don't have equal-size hour markers (the 3, 6 and 9 are doubled), which unbalances the dial. Equally, on the 34mm these three are slightly longer than the others, again disrupting the balance. Only the 39mm has got it right, but the case size is slightly too big. I think the 14000m is OK in this regard, can't remember. Have I got this right?

36mm and smaller worked for decades, when 'Exploring' was a little harder than today. Hardly too small eh?

Smaller makes more sense for anyone using the watch for what it was made, more wrist movement on the 36, if the watch sits low on your arm a bigger case will restrict your abliy to flex your wrist. Another point is it’s less likely to attract scratches from a rock face ect or get caught up in your gear.

I do not see the 39 mm Explorer as being popular at all. If supplies of all models was normal most ADs would have an Explorer in the case. People are looking at the 39mm Explorer now because they cannot get anything else. But I recall the 36mm was really a poor seller until it was discontinued and then everybody wanted one.

I agree a 39mm Explorer with a white dial would be really cool.
