submariner power reserve

I am actually a new Rolex subND owner and mainly I am using my watch during weekends.
the thing is ; if I leave it at home,my watch stops within around 16-18 hrs.

is this an issue ?
if not , why it is mentioned that the power reserve is appr. 48 hrs.

If the watch isn’t fully wound it won’t keep power as long. Try letting it run down, then give it 40 full winds and let it rest and see how many hours you get.

Yes, give it 40 full 360 degree rotations of the crown.

I notice when winding a watch that a wind isn’t always a “full” wind unless I’m really focusing on making sure the crown rotates fully 360 degrees. I often just wind it 45 times to make up for any shortfall. You can’t over wind it.

The power-reserve on a full manual wind thats 40 plus full crown turns clockwise then reserve should be around 48 hours give or take a hour or so.And just because you are wearing your watch dont mean you are winding your watch its wrist movement that winds your watch.

What happens in simple terms once the mainspring is full wound it just slips in the spring-barrel, sometimes you can feel this but not always you cannot over-wind.
