I love mine and it will be one watch that will never leave my collection, been on many a deployment and exercises. Still keeping brilliant time and has not missed a beat.
I have all three bezals and a jubilee for it. I prefer it to my modern 6 digit variant.

I bought mine almost two years ago and the price has gone up buy 1.5% since then ... this is not going to drop, I agree with most.
it is one of the best, most versatile 5 digit Rolex has. |

1.5%? Sounds like you didn’t buy it very well then. I bought a mint late-serial 16710 in early 2016 and its current market value is about 70% more than what I paid for it. 1.5% is not even keeping up with inflation over the last two years.

I paid about 7500 for mine. With box and papers. Wouldn’t said it’s cheap but don’t see it getting cheaper either.

I'm not a collector. I just wear what I like. That's an Omega Speedmaster and my 16710 BLRO.

Could you explain this in more detail please? Are you just saying the later serials are trading at higher premium. I watch the market a bit as I have a 16710 M serial as well but never noticed this or read about any difference until you stated.
Is there more to your statement that I am missing? What seems to be the approximate price gap between the serials. I thought all the M serials pepsis were around 25k.

Nobody said they were rare... They may have made thousands of 16710 but its been discontinued for a minute so hence why it is more sought after nowadays. Not to mention that the newer model is WG so $$$ and ceramic so not the same either... you cant be a watch that can have 3 different bezel and two if not 3 bracelets - so many combinations Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Price of the five digit 16710 will hit 13K in a couple of years. The watch is out of production and is so desirable that buyers are willing to pay same as a Gray Batman.

Serials them serves are not sought after. Pristine condition watches are sought after. As mentioned, some seek 3186 movements - which may be in some M serials. Some seek “stick” dials - I.e. the Roman numeral ll with non serif fonts on the dial. These are less identifiable with serials. How about this? Buy the GMT you want to wear on your wrist? |
