Black Friday is a waste trap for unnecessary impulse buys.
Frugal people use sites like www.keepa.com (which also has a browser plugin) to set price alerts and then snatch items they need, when they drop to their lowest (at any time).

If you can wait for Black Friday then you don't need it urgently, and if you don't need it urgently you can get it cheaper most times by waiting until it drops to the all-time-low.
I checked all my recent Keepa ATL buys and none of the items is cheaper in Black Friday promos.

Sucker honeypots.

Only thing I saw which I sat on the fence on was a Sd4k for 8,900 (if I remember)... £GBP

That’s actually a pretty decent price these days. I nearly bit.

Someone else did not long after.

Unless you want last year's tech and slightly lower than the prices for the new stuff...just skip. Black Friday is every day if you are smart.

I bought a GMT Master wall clock from Dealer Clocks. I got a few bucks off this week end. I was going to buy it anyway, so the saving was welcome. I habitually ignore the Black static. The wall clock was a happy coincidence.

Only thing I got was a 200GB Micro SD card for my phone. Don't really need/want anything on the sales.

I bought another Orient Bambino from Long Island Watch that was on sale. I'm a huge fan of the Bambinos.

I bought some new floor mats for my car from College Hills Honda that were on sale.

I also bought some clothing from the Tulane University bookstore that were on sale.

All these were online.

I saved about 30% off normal prices and since I visit these sites regularly, I know what these items usually sell for.

They weren't impulse buys either, as I've been looking at the watch I bought for over a year and I just wore a hole in the floor mats I had. I'm always buying stuff from my alma maters, so when a sale pops up, it just a good time to buy, Black Friday or not.

I stay away from brick and mortar stores during the holidays as much as possible.

I am astounded every year by the numbers of people who do the Black Friday thing.

Crazy!

How much did you get the Bambino for?

And I saw a video of a couple women wrestling for a Pioneer Woman Instapot or something on the floor at Walmart. Real classy.

I paid $139 for mine.

https://www.longislandwatch.com/Orie...p/ac00009n.htm

After watching the video, it looks like I didn't get the Black Friday sale price.

Oh well. No big deal. I've been meaning to buy this watch for a long time and it is a lower price than it has been in the past.

I love my other two.

You don't have to pay a fortune for a nice dressy watch.

I just sent an email to Marc Frankel at Island Watch asking about the sale price.

He said that I must have ordered prior to the beginning of the sale at 1pm yesterday, he said that he'd make the price adjustment for me, anyway.

He's a good dealer and very personable.

That's good, he seems like a decent guy on his Youtube vids. Congrats on the Bambino

Some web retailers were having 3-4 day sales. I picked up a shearling lined suede jacket from Levi's. Reproduction of an item from the 1970s.

I had to do some research before I answered your post.

The double-decker buses didn't exist in New Orleans the last time I was there.

My purchases from the University of New Orleans and Tulane are always done online.

Bought some new kicks for a thanksgiving basketball tournament...so timing worked out well...35% off of a current LeBron James model is pretty good.

I haven't yet taken advantage of BF... The department store we use the most has it's BF deals still going today. Contemplating adding another DeBuyer Prima Matera to our kitchen utensils.... Let's see.
