Never looked for, or posted on this thread when I bought my AK a while ago.
I think it’s a great watch that’s different from the Rolex norm. Most don’t think it’s aesthetically pleasing...I get that, I just happen to like the look, and love the dimensions of the case. I’m a diehard Rolex guy, and I do absolutely love the “normal” Rolex models....for whatever reason, I find this one interestingly attractive

I love the Mercedes Benz logo on the hour hand on the Air king - I have an AMG Mercedes C43S!

My 2018 won't be long before this owners club has 10 members...thread only running for 2 years

I love this watch from first seeing and trying it on
It is the most misunderstood Rolex making it a classic. I love everything from:-
The matt black dial in the sun
The brilliant white of the 5 10
The shine of the 3.6.9
The green of the second hand..which can be bright or dark

The Airking watch cannot be fully understood unless it is worn and only then do you see the dial as it was designed
..look at the 3 6 9 and it's an hour watch ..look at the 5 10 20 and it's a minute watch..look at it at a different light and the dial becomes 3D it's superb and not understood by people who don't own one.

My favourite modern Rolex. It has so much going on and that isn't a bad thing. There's just nothing else like it.

I guess it's not appropriate to ad a pic of mine being it's gone, but not forgotten. I loved everything about it. I took an opportunity to trade it for a new Polar. I may be joining the AK again as it was a great daily wearer for me.

It's ok! The Explorer II Polar is a great choice, I struggled with getting one instead of the AK for the 2nd time zone. A 2nd time zone would be great when I travel, but I couldn't resist the allure of the Air King. And I guess it gives me an excuse to save up for a Polar now, or a GMT.

You'll find your way back home eventually!

p.s. where else are you gonna find a watch that's just as much at home amongst apples?

switched back to the oyster bracelet. The lug holes were too close the case and was chafing the leather

fair warning to those wanting to try. i think maybe only the ABP straps works.

I'm not sure about the current market as a whole. What I do know is that I visited 4 AD's when I bought mine. Only two of them had Air Kings and neither were in the display case. The AD that I bought the watch from was very nice, and it was a pleasant experience, but it became clear to me that he would not have brought the watch out of the safe if I just wanted to 'try it on.' I saw Explorer II's, Milgausses, a SS, SD's, and Yachtmasters in the display cases but no Explorer I's or Air Kings.

I was in a Rolex boutique in the Galleria mall downtown Houston. They have an Air King and two Milgauss (one Z blue and a black)
Snap it up while you can.

I think the ZBlue Millgauss is a snappy watch!

I like the AK though for it's more conservative yet edgy look, and pairability (my new word) with multiple facets of life.
