Determining Rolex Age
Hi everyone.
I just purchased a beautiful Submariner 5513, no papers, which the AD states that it is from 1970. There are no issues with it and I love it. On the internet I have found 17 sites with date of manufacture databases. 10 state that the watch is from 1968, 1 states that the watch is from 1969 and 6 states that it is from 1970. For me the older the better and I would love to say that the watch was from the 1960's vs the 1970's. Any suggestions as to further research or similar experiences ? thanks |

A watch in this era would have a date stamp inside the caseback.
Unscrew the back and read the stamp; that is likely what the Dealer did to get their 1970 date.
