Refurb'd dial

Is this a Movado style refurb?

Btw, what do you think of it?

It may be Movado-inspired, but I don't like it. The two diamonds try (but fail) to balance the coronet and date window. The dial is too unadorned (they should have added batons instead of diamonds).

Or left the dial blank with the coronet and date (hmmmm more of a cellini dial?)

I agree with George. With just the two diamonds, it appears a bit lopsided.

It looks like a factory custom-made job. The lettering is too nice for an aftermarket dial - most aftermarket dials can be told by the ROLEX writing. They always get something a bit off.

Now that Ed is simple beauty!! I love that watch, especially in PLT. I really have that watch marked as the last piece in my watch collection, a long way away.

Diamond dial DD

Ed, I love the look of the DD but, my tastes make me lean more to the diamondless dial although they do look sweet with the one pictured. Is that one yours Ed?

Yep, it's mine. It's the one I wear with black tie, although I'll sometimes wear it with dress jeans. A friend of mine had one just like it and I really admired it on him when I saw it. So when I had the opportunity to get one, I latched on to it immediately.

We are clearly on the same wavelength, D. About 10 years ago, we took a short family vacation to Nemacolin, a resort in Pennsylvania. They have several golf courses and a driving range there. My son and I took a lesson and then got couple of buckets of balls to hit on the range. After an hour of doing that, I turned to him and said, "You know, Leigh, this is the stupidest thing going." That was the last time I held a club in my hands.

Sweet Watch Ed, I like Dman this will be "marked as the last piece in my watch collection" even though I know there are "better" watches out there but, I'm stuck on Rolex.

I've got two more watches on my wannahave list. The more immediate possibility is the Breitling Navitimer Olympus. I love the complications on that watch; between the slide rule (remember you're talking to a former engineer here), the triple date, and the chrono, the only thing missing is the second time zone. And the other one, which will be when I hit the lottery, is the Daytona meteorite with black or brown leather band.
