Sounds excellent! I’ll keep my eyes peeled for a bottle

Great line up, and I am just North of you in the Frisco area. My good connection dried up last year, so now unfortunately the Pappy is a bit expensive. I have moved on to Blanton's. What else do you drink and like?

Picked up a few recommendations from this thread today. Tomorrow the hunt continues in another big town. Also paid homage to the Pappy Gods last month.

Jack Daniels is without question my favorite. It’s depth and balance is to my taste, incredible. Not forgetting the ice cubes of coure.

We did a blind tasting with 30 different contenders, Pappy and other top shelf stuff were amongst them...

Basil Hayden’s bourbon came out 2nd voted by 15 tasters.

Disclaimer: we were all drunk by the end...

That Old Forester Prohibition Style bourbon is good stuff, I found it quite interesting and a good value for the price.

Basil Hayden bourbon is my standard Go-To whiskey. Their Dark Rye, though, left me uninspired. It is finished in port barrels, or maybe fortified with Port in the cutting phase to bring it to 40% from barrel proof, and it was just too sweet for me. Not what a rye is supposed to be. But a lot of my friends really liked it when we did a tasting several weeks ago, so to each his own.

The Stagg Jr. is very unique. 126 proof so its a sipping drink to say the least and I drink it neat to not diminish the flavor. Very very complex flavors from start to finish. Takes a few sips for it to fully develop. I rather like it but you cant drink a whole bunch for obvious reasons. I will be picking up more of it when I see it available, highly recommend!

I have had a bunch of Weller but still looking to score my first Blantons. I have seen the bottles before but didnt know how good it is so I never got any. Hopefully that will change soon.
