In our old home, there were a two "special" long oak moulded panels among several along both walls in a hallway, they popped out and had several shelves on them, unless you knew to look for them, you'd have no idea they were there, hiding in plain sight as they say.
If someone skilled breaks into your home, and they find your safe, most likely it's game over. If they're poogs, and just there for a grab and dash, they generally won't bother with a safe if it's bolted down. Key is if you have a safe, it must be hidden. The picture with a safe behind it, a vent grill that covers a safe along the bottom of a hallway, misdirection is your friend IMO. |

tvad, If you want a real safe instead of some metal box box bolted to the floor which I or anyone else can crowbar open in two minutes.
Go to Dean Safe Co. They have a showroom in the San Fernando Valley. Get a fireproof/resistant safe that takes power tools and a lot time to crack. Prices are very good and of course they deliver. The difference in quality and thief resistance between real safes and lock boxes or the metal box safes from Costco etc. is massive. A quick trip to youtube will show many videos of people breaking into lock boxes and steel cabinets/cheap safes is really fast and easy. |

Sturdy safe if you want something bigger. Always buy bigger than you think you will need.

How does one know the safe delivery guys aren’t controlled by a local crime ring and won’t mark you as a new target?

You don’t know. Usually the company you buy the safe from offers delivery.

Hi all, i just started an new thread regarding watch safes before i seen this thread so thought i would post my research so far on here.
I have been looking at getting a watch safe that has inbuilt watch winders for my so called prized possessions. Has anyone bought one and if so what brand and where from? I have been looking at the WOLF range of watch safes as i know their watch winders are quality but i don't really like the look of them on the inside and the safes don't seem to be as secure as some of the others. They carry a hefty price tag also at US$13,999 for the 2 watch winder model as seen here https://www.wolf1834.com/item/490264/1834-collection/ I have also looked at Brown safes, these look like a much better quality safe than WOLF and to me look a lot nicer inside but again the price tag is massive. https://www.brownsafe.com/man-safe/index.html The other option i have been looking at is Regal Vaults. The safes look as good security wise as Brown safes and the interior fit out looks very luxurious. Price wise they look very reasonable. https://www.regalvaults.com.au/ Has anyone bought one from any of these 3 suppliers? Any suggestions on the 3 above? |
