Odd Papers...
I came across this photo, one among several, of a SD for sale at a very well-known online high-end watch retailer. At first I thought the picture might have been altered to remove dealer and personal information from the serial certificate, until I read in the description "Box and papers. (papers have name cut out)".
We've all seen efforts -- some better than others -- by sellers to redact information or otherwise obscure serial numbers for security purposes. However, I thought that this picture shows someone having gone too far, some might say destroying the presentation value of the certificate (assuming it has any). At least the certificate looks genuine and the country code (410-Japan) is present.

Some people don't want their personal information out. Privacy laws prevent the release of such information.

No big deal. The warranty is long gone anyway.

Shame they had to butcher the papers like that.
I know in reality it's no big deal but if I were buying a semi vintage piece and the papers looked like that I wouldn't exactly be happy about it. Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk

Why cut out the dealer name, I wonder. December 2005 is very late for that pillow box, too. Even the later c-clip inserts were phased out by then, I believe.

Also, I've only ever seen Japanese-language Rolex papers out of Japan, not the international type shown above.
