Great bottles Roger!!! I'll try one of those two one day, as soon as the kids all grow up.

I think I'll go the Quella/ Sloan route. I might not even make it into the Sloan tonight if not that many people want any wine.

Thank you again & Merry Christmas!

Took the Sloan and Quella to Morton's tonight. The Quella was out of this world! The Sloan was great but needed about 45 minutes to come into its element. I shared both with everyone, our bill should've been $2000 but was strangely about half of that. Either way I was happy to share with whomever came by the table. Can't wait to do it again. Thanks for the recommendation Roger, only thing I would add would be to decant the Sloan. It was very young and alcoholic on opening. 15 minutes later though and it softened. The Quella was the bomb right on opening. Paired both with a bone in dry aged New York steak and a chocolate cake with fresh raspberries. Could NOT have been any better.

Non-traditional Christmas dinner: steak, scalloped potatoes, and brussels sprouts with bacon. Grilled some nice american wagyu filets from Snake River Farms.

Paired with 2011 Figgins, which didn't quite hold up to the food overall, but was great after about 30 mins in the decanter.

Figgins is one of my favourite wines. Haven’t had one in a long time.

It's good stuff, but definitely not cheap as far as Washington wine goes. Our first bottle was a 2009 a few years back which was wonderful.

The release events out in Walla Walla for their members are great -- definitely recommend!

Very nice! Looks like a 1998 and 2003 Quilceda. What year is the Leonetti?

2005, was really good. All 3 wines could have kept evolving for another 10 years.

Spending the day putting drywall back in my closet after all the mold got cleaned up. Still have a long way to go plus need to reinstall EVERYTHING in our master bath. But for now taking a break with some second wine from Jonata.

Larry I know you were looking for an inexpensive daily drinker, these are great out of the bottle and $25. . I think I'm going to buy a LOT more of these.

Funny story... we were in Napa for the first time several years ago, and stopped by Opus One on a lark on our way out of town. We suspected we weren't going to be able to do a tasting, but wanted to grab a bottle of the 'Overture'.

So we walk up to the women acting as hosts and inquired about procuring a bottle of their their "table wine" The women took it in stride, but were very clear in their reply to clarify that yes, they did have a "second label" called Overture.

Ooops!

The upside is we were able to taste, and they didn't even charge us. And we went home with a bottle of their table wine, which we enjoyed very much
