I doubt you'll get a discount from an AD on a new SS professional.

Ref 116680 can be had for €12.8K new from grey. which is 24.7% off retail where I live. I would expect Spanish ADs to do at least 15% off on this piece.

You can definitely get a discount on YMII and better or else you are going to get majorly spanked if you decide you don't like it. They go for at least 25% off in grey market and my guess is most AD's would be glad to give you a discount. It is one of the few SS sports models you always see at every AD along with Milgauss and ExpII.

There was no discount on YM II SS in 2 UK ADs that I enquired at. Also not eligible for inteserest free credit (which is available on TT sports models for example)

My AD said that one of the reason of shortage for SS models is based on the Rolex strategy not to provide discounts. Rolex wants to be like PP - Order the watch from AD. Watch will be delivered directly to AD. Customer pay full MSRP.

Why should you get a discount?

Probably because it’s a slow moving piece. No one deserves a discount, but everyone deserves the right to ask for a discount.

I was told by my AD that, the Yachtmaster II in stainless steel is no longer available to order so it may be tougher than previous to order one. If you like it I would get it. As for the EXP II, they are also dwindling in supply.

Agreed. Ym2’s are EVERYWHERE. Pretty much the same with exp2’s.
Never pay msrp on those models. |

Here's some advice. Look at the classifieds on watchrecon.com and see what kind of pricing is going on for the model.
Then go to the AD with that number in your mind. If the AD can't or won't work with you to at least get in the ball park of your number, just buy it from a trusted seller. You can ask us, but we don't really know. |

Thanks for all the replies guys...
I always wanted the YM2 because it's the biggest Rolex available today but looking at the demand on other Steels watches like batman pepsi and daytona... do you think I should just get one of those or YM2... and if you suggest one of the other watches... what's the tops I should be paying... |

Its hit or miss, but your best bet is a YMII. Good luck and happy happy hunting.

For the others, just poke around online shops and see what the going rate is. You'll be paying well over retail unless you've already got a strong in with an authorized dealer. |
