Explorer is a fantastic watch. I had the 39mm mk2. But, for me, the dial seemed very big. A lot of blank space on it. I now have a 36mm which, for me, seems perfect. Get one.

I never used to think about the Explorer then something triggered in me a few months ago and had to have one. I got it a few weeks ago and it's perfect. So easy to tell time on and can be casual or dress.

For me, it’s simple, doesn’t pretend to be a “Rolex” in a shiny sort of way, is elegant, is legible, does one thing and one thing only. It’s a watch for all seasons, all occasions, all professions, and all circumstances. And with no fuss. It’s about as pure a Rolex as one can get.

Rolex explorer 1
I thank the forum for the advice and opinions. I have now got my name down for one as it seems a prefect watch for all occasions whether worn with a suit or t shirt in the summer and so versatile but holding a degree of class.
One of the nicest SS professorial watches violable by the sounds of things? |

I tried the 39mm at the AD and felt the dial was too large and bezel too thick. It really didn't give me the go anywhere, do anything vibe. |

My day-to-day wear is my SubC, but for up in the hills, in the gym or for dress-up ocassions it’s my Exp 39mm Mk.1, my first Rolex.
I like the Explorer because it’s fits snug to the wrist, therefore comfortable and well below radar. Its versatile! It’s a gem! |

Purchase sooner rather than later if you love the watch , prices are only going one way.
