I am very sorry that I went to this topic. I am now on a diet and after watching these delicious pictures I wanted to eat a piece of grilled meat from a grill.I have broccoli and apples for dinner today.

I sense a seafood trend here

Making Cioppino - no decent crab here in ATL (at least under $50) so doubled up on the mussels.

Looks delicious Roger.

Laurie and I are in NYC and have been walking and eating our way around the city. Last night we randomly selected a place near Bryant Park called Calle Dao (Cuban). Didn’t get pics of the octopus or ceviche, but the black rice paella was amazing and the mojito was excellent as well.

Nice choice for comfort in Winter.

I’m going an old route - meat & potatoes. A weeklong process to dry age the prime rib (a small one) but should only be an hour or so in oven.

Big Russett Bakers

Greased, spiked, seasoned.

The roast has darkened with the sea salt and pepper rub over the week...

And it all goes into oven together for a while...

Like to do the potatoes vertically so they never get a flat spot.

125° later... (internal, that is)

Out of the oven

But rest she must>>>
Asleep under a tin blanket

Meanwhile the spuds are toasty and calling to me.

So it’ll be a progressive meal - must do this between the College Football playoff games today - Norte Dame is minutes away from elimination - I’ll burst open an honorable mention to the Fighting Irish...

And later slice into this...

Surf and turf Taiwanese style yesterday. Lunch at my wife’s cousin’s restaurant while on holiday.
Lobster just flew in that morning.

And some dessert that I’m not sure what it is. The clear ball had no flavor but the dust and sauce provided the flavor.

Our last dinner in NYC on Saturday was at Indian Accent. They have 3 locations (NYC, London and Delhi) and do elevated Indian food. We did the 3 course dinner with wine pairing.

The amuse-bouché from the chef was naan stuffed with blue cheese and a pumpkin garam masala spiced soup served with a Madeira wine.

My first course was crab claws, butter-pepper-garlic, cauliflower served with a dry Australian white wine with a grapefruit undertones (didn’t catch the varietal).

2nd course - Tiger prawns, indian sorrel chutney, peanut sago vada served with a French rosé of Cinsalt, Grenache and Syrah.

3rd course - Beef tenderloin, bakarkhani, potato and fenugreek cheela served with a CA Syrah.

Great dinner here tonight with elk tenderloin with a Port and red wine reduction, garlic mashed white sweet potatoes, and steamed broccoli served with a couple of amazing wines. Oh and dessert was some amazing chocolate brought back from Portugal by my good friend Chip.

Bandit watched over me while I grilled.

Made the traditional good luck meal of black eyed peas and collard greens with ham hocks today, and some cornbread. Yummy!

An antipasto for starters, followed by pasta with anchovies (and left over au jus from the frying of bacalao)..and then my tomato based stew.. Some fried bacalao to nosh on..
I think everyone enjoyed it...along with a few bottles of wine and Prosecco to ring in the new year...!!
Didnt get pics of everything else, but Im sure you get the drift.
