Coke - Pepsi, have an idea

I like both of these watches, but don't like the 24 hour hand.
What would you guys think, if I picked one up, and had that hand removed?

John,

I wouldn't do it, but that is just my humble opinion. I was pondering your question in hopes of finding some kind of "middle ground" for you. You could get a Sub and replace the bezel insert with a Pepsi/Coke 24 hour insert, but that isn't something I would do either.

Sorry, but I am just NO help!

Mike

I wouldn't do it either.
A submariner with an alternative bezel insert is easily reversible and would not diminish the value, both money-wise and utility-wise.

My other option is the LV.
Prefer the maxi dial, and the TT is a bit too much for me.
I really like the Blue Submariner, but it doesn't look "right" on me.

Doesn't sound like a good idea to me. Have you really checked the watch out in person as opposed to all the close up pictures we see on the forum? The 24 hr. hand really isn't that loud in person.

I was just thinking that the LV would be a good option for you John if you're looking for something with color!

Between removing the 24 hour hand on the GMT and choosing an LV, I would definitely go with the LV. That decision wouldn't haunt you every time you looked down at your wrist, but the removal of the 24 hour hand just might.

You could always do it and put the hand back if you don't like it.

Is there a 24 hour hand that you would like????

The green LV bezel rocks btw!!!!

I like the green hand on the right.
I was planning on getting that watch in November when I dropped by the AD, but picked up my Daytona instead.
They Daytona is dressier, but I really like both of those.
Will call Natasha tomorrow.

YOU do what ever satisfies your fancy...

I have changed steel subs bezel and dial with those from the two tone
I have changed dials between watches
I was not always a serious type of guy...

In my opinion, since I own a GMT and a Sub, I would say Go for the GMT and do not remove the fourth hand. My reasoning for this is for the most part I don't notice the fourth had unless I am looking for it. 90% of the time I look at my GMT is to tell local time, and I only see the minute an hour hands. It is slightly selective but I think it happens naturally the more you use the GMT and use it daily.

I don't even notice the GMT hour hand on my coke model.
IMHO, I would leave it alone, but it is 'your watch' do watch pleases you.

I wouldn't remove it immediately.
Would give it a good try out , but is in an option & it can be replaced down the road.

Nah, I wouldn't do that. The 25 hour makes makes the dial busy, but it's not that bad.

In my opinion, don't alter the watch....you don't want to do that. Have you looked at other models to your liking?

Remove it!

I think that the red 24 hour hand is very distracting and I was considering removing it on my GMT. The reason I got the GMT vs. a sub is because I have to wear a suit and long sleeves everyday and the sub was just too thick. If you do remove it, let us know how much it cost you. Thanks.

IMO the GMT's are the best reference from Rolex. I don't think you will notice the 24 hour hand after wearing the watch a while as others have mentioned. But it does add a little spice to the dial.

DONT LIKE THE GMT FUNCTION??? are you mad?!

Its the greatest watch rolex make (er......IMHO) Tell you what,.... you buy a pepsi, m series, or coke..... BNIB, and ill swap you my less obtrusive GMT IIc!

Seriously, if you dont like the GMT hand, just gat a sub and pop in a bezel of your choice! tiz easy! (i wish my perfect watch was so easy, GMT II, with the sub trip lock crown, and clasp off a GMT IIc, that would be perfect!)
