What material is used in the numbers on the bezel of an 116505 or 116528?
I think I’m going to pull the trigger on 116505 or 116528.
The AD told me that the ceramic bezels are deposited with gold. But didn’t know what was used with the gold bezels. What material is used in the numbers on the gold bezels? Does it come off if used in water or rubbed when wiping clean with a cloth ? |

Rolex uses a PVD type of deposition on the numbers and markings of their ceramic inserts. Gold is gold, platinum is platinum.

The text on the PM Daytona bezels is pretty durable. It came come off with excessive polishing, but normal wear and water use it will last many many years
