Help with Tudor 7928 Submariner Cal 390 Mvmt
I have noticed that all the Tudor Submariner 7928 with movement 390 Auto Prince that I have seen are marked SWISS MADE on the rotor bridge. I recently purchased one; however, that is marked UNADJUSTED on the rotor bridge. Is this a correct movement for the 7928, or did it come from a non diver style watch?
Thanks for your help, Ed |

there is a bit of debate on this. One of the resident 7928 expert, Linesiders should chime in as well.
The brass / pink movements were generally found in the dress Tudor watches and not in the more common 7928 submariners. Apparently in the earlier version of the 7928 (ALA PCG, SPCG, SCG), there were brass / pink movements installed but generally the later ones were all rhodium plated (i.e., not the one you are showing in your images). Perhaps inform us what serial number yours starts with so we can get a sense of year of production. |

Lack of information here to go on.
What color is the movement? Silver? Pink? or Brass? Is it all the same color or mixed parts? Your photos are a bit washed out for color. What Model / Year of 7928 ? You could have a swapped in bridge, wrong movement, lots of variables here. Depending on the year, it might not say anything there ; )

Let me clarify. I am a watchmaker and collector. About 20 odd years ago I got this 7928 case with no movement. It is marked 1963 in the back and has the point crown guard (PCG). The case serial number has been messed up by the band, which was one of those military diver bands custom made for military divers. I had a 390 movement, the one marked unadjusted, but was not sure it was correct. So, I purchased another 390 movement, the one marked Swiss Made. Since there are no serial numbers on these movement, I do not know when these movements were made. I do not have the dial with the outside ring for this case as they are out of this world hard to find.I did want
to put a correct movement in this case, so that is why I am asking this question. |

The movement with "Swiss made" is a gold/pink color. The movement with "unadjusted" looks like it was plated and cleaned in a harsh cleaner that stripped off the silver color plating. Note that the rotor center still has some "silver color" plating on the center and around the edges. The colors depend on the computer monitor as they look natural on my retina screen Mac, but the colors are washed out on my daughter's HP.

I don't currently have a 63, a few of my current or back over the transom:
All the below movements are Rhodium: 379k II.61: Adjusted 2 positions, US Watch with ROW on movement 363k II.61: SWISS MADE Another 61 338 had the bridge replaced so no idea of what was original 433k III.64 blank, no stamping - came from a Crown dependency 597k II.67: UnAdjusted ROW 597k II.67: UnAdjusted ROW
