Datejust 41 Blue Jubilee selling at a premium

Just noticed on chrono24 that the datejust 41 blue dial with jubilee band is holding its price and in some instances going for a premium. This is the first time I've seen this with datejust's. Just something I found interesting

This climate ALL Rolex's will rise in price in gray market. Doesnt matter if its a DJ, Sub, GMT and doesnt matter if its SS, TT or PM.

All models have had increases from 24 months ago.

Increases yes, but only a few are going for an actual premium.

The fluted/Jubilee DJs are really great though

My sister in law bought a 31mm blue jubilee last month.
AD refused to discount and AD was actually upset when she paid by AMEX.

Times have changed.
No discounts and attitude when buying.

Every Rolex AD I've spoken to recently has said that blue dial DJs are on backorder.

Not just DJs but OPs too. I've seen a bunch listed over MSRP but none of them are moving so...

Amazing. Attitude with a customer making a $6k+ purchase. On a slow mover, no less.

I understand walking away to purchase elsewhere is easier said than done given the excitement of going home with an exciting new watch, but jeez.

Times have changed. That is rude and I got mine 41mm with 1500 discount.

Just for my curiosity. Why was the AD mad about AMEX?
I have two cards (MasterCard & Visa).

Thanks!

My wife bought the exact watch but different color dial 8 months ago from the same AD with 13% off. I was surprise they wouldn't budge.

AMEX charges the merchant more than VISA or MC.
I think it's about 1 to 2 % more.

As I understand it,, vendors won’t allow AE because of excessive charges,,
Lots won’t take Amex in the uk for those reasons,,
Not surprised to hear of vendors getting stroppy over card payments,,
Been asked if I am using a debit card instead of a MasterCard on numerous
occasions,,,,,
Strange behaviour for strange days,,
If you walk in with £6k cash then that could be frowned upon so it makes you
Wonder what bloody way do they want it?,
Debit cards or direct bank transfers only for the future? And should you need credit or want to use your MasterCard then NO you can bugger off,,

@ROLEXster @jaySL350

Thanks for clearing this up and I never understood it.

Last year one off my friends had this problem on holiday and they could not tell us why they did not accept AMEX.

Now I know!

Bought a YM last week with Amex from an Ad in Abu Dhabi with no problems.

Interestingly I tried on a DJ 41, blue dial, fluted, Jubilee today at the same dealer and was going to pull the trigger as its a lovely watch but figured I`d get one in the UK at a later date if I still wanted one. I didn't realise they were hard to come by.

They also had a 2 tone black dial Sky Dweller but I`ll hold out in the hope I may get lucky one day with steel blue or black dial.

Bought my LVc with Amex last week.... no trouble at all and earned enough points to get me a £70 quid Costco voucher
