Newbie question--should I jump on a Steel and Gold Black Dial Submariner?
Hi everyone. I was eyeing getting a stainless steel sub, except the first AD I called told me everyone is out of it (meaning don't bother calling around) and I should check back in 3-6 months. That's when I started googling this shortage and discovered TRF threads confirming that this is a problem many people face.
I called a few more ADs in my area, and one said they have a Steel and Gold Black Dial in stock. The incremental $5k vs. a SS is not a deal-breaker, but I would have gone for the SS if I had a choice. I understand that the SS has a much more severe shortage than the TT. That said, do people think there is a meaningful shortage for the TT sub? I'm essentially wondering if I need to make a snap decision on this or not--if it's also got a major shortage, then I probably don't have as much time to decide. Thanks! |

Welcome to the forums!
A valuable lesson is to always get that watch you want, not a watch that is comparable. If you really want the SS Sub, hold out and start making it known to some ADs. Also, since 5K in price isn’t a deal breaker, there are many trusted sellers on here that have Subs within that price range. Hope that helps! |

Welcome. If you’re heart is set on the stainless, the two tone will not satisfy you. I agree with above... trusted seller here can take care of you. If you buy the ln, you won’t pay as much of a premium.
