Vintage Tudor plexi

Hi,
I recently purchased a Tudor 7019/3 in fantastic overal shape but with some quite scratches on the plexi crystal. I will try to polish them out. I can source a crystal for Tudor 90800, it appears the case is the same (38mm, Jumbo case). Do you know if the 90800 crystal will fit in the 7019 case?

Can't answer your question, but automotive polish works wonders on polishing crystals. I've managed to get some serious scratches out with it.

Sure! Sorry for the poor quality phone pics. I will take pictures tomorrow under better light.

The chamfers are very sharp. Some light scratches on the case. Beautiful patina on the dial, lume plots on the dial are intact. The lume has partially fallen of the minute hand.

It is in a good shape for 50 years old watch. I quite like the size (38m) which is very wearable. I'll have to find a better strap.

I used polywatch on my vintage Speedy ('84) with superb results but I would like to get a spare play crystal for the Tudor. It would not be easy in future for the replacement parts :) I am looking to source new old stock hands as well but it appears they are really hard to find.

Deeper scratches require sanding with fine grit sandpaper (e.g. 1000-1500) to sand out the scratch, working up to higher grits (2000-3000), and finishing with polywatch (or similar compound).

I have much more expensive and newer watches but this old Tudor became my favourite watch to wear!

I wouldn't touch it as it is except doing a light polish of the plexy.

I would like very much to source new hands and crystal just in case I decide to replace these parts in future.

i wouldn't do a thing to it aside from a light polish of the plexi. since you have "much more expensive and newer watches" simply slap one of them on your wrist whenever you want near perfection. patina and wabi is the name of the game with us vintage freaks :)
