First Rolex decision

Hey, I am in the interest of buying my first Rolex and I’m crazy over the new Batman model with jubilee. So I went out the way and emailed every AD near me to be on the waitlist, with only one replying telling me they have a 116713ln model in the showroom (tt gmt) and if I were to buy this they would call me when they get availability for the Batman.
The thing is I don’t like the fact of me paying retail for something I can buy under retail on the grey market.
What is your advice? Is the 116713ln going to go up in value so I don’t lose money if I decide to sell in a few years?
Thank you

Don’t play the game. Call around or stop into ADs to talk to them about the new Batman. It’ll get you a better repor with the AD. There have been many people who got hard to find watches with no prior purchase. I just got offered a Hulk but had to buy a solid gold watch I had 0 interest in. I passed on it because there will always be another one day.

Agreed. Go in person and talk to them if you can. Of course, if there is another watch you really want, it won't hurt to buy it (they will see you as a serious buyer). But you can also negotiate with them, too. (And, ultimately, sell whatever else they "make" you buy).

Don’t buy a watch that’s not desirable to just get the one you want. You’d be better going grey market.

Go and talk to the ADs in person, not by emailing them. Strike up a conversation and eventually bring up you would like to be put on the list for the new BLNR. You’ll be surprised what may happen. Good luck in your search.
