Picked this bottle up in Tesco on special - £18

Yes that’s £18 for a sherry cask malt

I took a risk & it tasted pretty damn good

I've only had the Weller green label. How does this compare to that?

Personally, If the green label was the best whiskey I've ever had, and I could get a steady supply of it, I'd be fine.

The 1910 tasted like wet leaves to me. I wasn't a fan. I hope your experience is better than mine. Now that Fitz... I mighta grabbed that one.

Green label is probably the value bourbon in the world IMO. Going to my home in Houston area for ten days and I will stick up on the 750ml for $18. Crazy! Larue weller is kinda mythical like pappy. Don’t have one at home so I decided to imbibe because the price was fair. The best part of any high end bourbon is the barrel proof. You can taste everything it was meant to be and then cut it down to your preference.

1910 had a lot of vanilla and caramel up front, but was very dry on the finish. It was ok, but prefer the 1920. the fitz is great, but probably not worth what we pay here.

The 1920 Old Forester is a great value, IMO, but I haven't been a fan of much else of theirs. I haven't had any of the Birthday Bourbons, of which I hear great things.

That 9 Year Old Fitz is waaaaaay overpriced, I didn't even pay that much for the 11 Year. Crazy. I've heard some people liked the 9 Year better than the 11, but I found the 11 a bit more flavorful on the palette.

Anyone on the hunt for specific bottles this spring season?

I've got 3 in mind that will probably be difficult to get, and might get me laughed at...

- Kentucky Owl Confiscated (yeah, there's a lot of talk about KO selling out, but I haven't been disappointed yet. I'll give it a try.)

- Old Fitzgerald 13 (impatiently waiting... the alcohol mafia, AKA: Nevada distributors, tend to push the majority of allocated product to Las Vegas, so it may be difficult to find where I'm at; luckily I'm headed to Vegas next weekend, so I'll look around to see if it's out yet...)

- Weller Full Proof (not released until later this year, but I'm really, really looking forward to trying it; I just hope it doesn't hit stratospheric pricing, although I'm sure it will)

Lastly, I'm saving for a bottle of something special from 2017 and can't decide. My little guy was born in 2017 and I was too preoccupied to think about buying some booze that fall to commemorate, so now I'm looking for something to share with him when he turns 21. I have enough other stuff to hold me over until then... Looking for maybe a 2017 Old Forester Birthday Bourbon, or maybe the 2017 Eagle Rare 17. Any other suggestions from the field of experts?

Anyone tried the Black Art 6.1? Thinking of picking up a bottle tomorrow.

Turning 30 this year and would like a birth year, can anyone recommend a good 1989? Was thinking Glendronach.

Also, thoughts on Orphan Barrel (specifically Rhetoric 25) and Blood Oath?

Here's some of the bottles I've grabbed lately, yet to crack any open as I've been enjoying Weller SR and 107, as well as Blanton's Original... sort of on a bourbon kick. Being in Toronto, it's hard to source the stuff I really like as it's just not available here, like Old Fitz... anyone done the Heaven Hill tour? Wondering if the Old Fitz 14 is a regular at the heritage centre, might plan a trip down in a few weeks to do some tours and getting a bottle of the 14 would be a highlight. Lotta' other stuff I'd love to try as well, not least of which are the BTAC offerings. LCBO (our government-run liquor store) does a yearly lottery, but haven't had any luck thus far.

Just picked this up today and am absolutely blown away... perhaps the best whisky I've ever had the chance to taste... stoked I got my own bottle. Would love to find a 4.1 as well. Anyone tried their '86?

I am in the lottery for double eagle very rare ($2,000 retail) and O.F.C. ($2,500) in Ohio. Winners should be announced her any day now; anyone else try to snag any of these bottles?
