Congrats! Nice pick up. Sometimes it’s all about being in the right place at the right time.

Congrats! Out of country is usually one of the easier spots to get a SS

This is a nice read. I really like the Submariner.

Congratulations to you and your fiancé.

But the writing is on the wall, better get ready to buy her a Rolex in Barcelona.

Wonderful story! My congratulations on your Rolex Submariner and on your decision to propose. IMHO where I'm standing there is a high probability that she just may accept your Barcelona proposal

Congratulations! You were sure in the right place, at the right time. What a great wedding/30th birthday gift. And what a great gf and soon-to-be wife. Sounds like you two have a great time together. Great story, and have a great future!

Cheers,
Carl

Congratulations on both the watch as well as the "upcoming" engagement. Just curious, how did you get a tax refund in Mexico?

At the mall, there is a tax refund person who helps you with the whole process - you don't have to do anything at the airport afterwards. I was told it would take maximum 60 days to get to my credit card.

Thanks! I ended up paying around USD 7350 total.

Nice purchase. Your story reminds me how it used used to be just a few years ago. Walk into an AD and buy a nice watch without any bs. The only difference is that there was never necessary for a confirmation and one used to get 10 to 15 % discount on everything and in some cases more. At least you somewhat got a taste of the good old days! Enjoy that beauty and your gf her new watch.

Congrats! I also got lucky around Christmas, I walked into an AD in a relatively small town and they just had a 114060 in the display case like it was no big deal. I bought it within approximately 10 milliseconds. I've wandered into at least 10 ADs since then because I went on vacation to Europe, and none have ever had a SS sport model (or at least not one they will admit to!)

Congrats! This is the way it should be.

Sounds like you've already "proposed" if she's buying you a wedding gift
