1016 back from LAwatchworks

Great experience with Edvi after sending my 1016 for service. Rotor didn’t sound right, so I sent out for service and to install domed crystal to replace the flatter service crystal. Great communication and experience. No luck sourcing longer original hands...search continues. They sent the parts pic as watch was being shipped. Total time was about 10 weeks. Fantastic experience

Looks great! Where did they end up sourcing the crystal?

It looks to me to be a new service crystal that they polished down to give the appearance of a period one.

well then kudos to them for doing such a great job. they are also classy enough not to needlessly criticize their competitors.

That's in part why I asked. If it has been turned and polished then it came out great. Water resistance trumps absolute period correctness in my book.

I'm I in no way criticizing LA as I do the same with mine. Since the period crystals are becoming harder and harder to find, the alternative is to turn down genuine service crystal and they turn out quite nicely.

Absolutely, the majority I know prefer the alternative to a period crystal for that reason...seal integrity. Best way to preserve your dial and hands.
