Day Date question

This may seem like a dumb question but did the DD ever come on Oyster? I don’t think so from my research but I’m asking because my mother in law’s hairdresser is trying to sell me his and says it has an oyster bracelet. I think he’s wrong but it was purchased new by him 30 years ago and barely worn so it could be a chance to get a cherry watch with box and papers at a good price. Other than having it authenticated, what should I be looking for on a DD?

A day date just isn’t a day date unless it’s on the president bracelet.

The DD36 has been offered with Oyster and President bracelets as well as leather straps.

Enjoy the hunt!

I just can't agree with you.

I have a DD on leather strap and I am very pleased with the look.

Wow—ok, this is educational. Thanks TRF.

I’m not sure I’m going to like it on Oyster because of the obvious appeal of the president bracelet. I like it on leather, but it just seems wrong on Oyster. From a collectors/value perspective though—is the Oyster more valuable because it’s rarer or less because it is out of line with what most people expect from a Day-Date?

Pretty sure you'll find the oysters sell at a discount to the presidential bracelet.

Some of those DD oyster bracelets are cool with a hidden clasp.

There was a WG blue wave dial oyster on here a long time ago I thought hard about.

The President bracelet is relatively hard to fit. I'd suspect an Oyster with hidden clasp would be near impossible unless you have the right sized wrist.
