Father & Son

I got my first Rolex last week and visited my father this weekend to show him. He's had his since I was a kid and was my inspiration to eventually get one. It's been a lot of years for me to get my first, but I did. So, here's the first father/son photo. I'm the lowly Datejust below the regal President.

Dude, don't cut yourself off at the knees. You worked hard for your watch & earned it, just like he did. I'd imagine your father is immensely proud of his son, no matter if he wears a Rolex or Timex.

Congratulations. Hope my little boy (5 1/2) (don’t forget the 1/2!) remembers my watch as you do your fathers. Enjoy !

Super cool man! Congrats!! My dad has always wanted one his whole life, never pulled the trigger, I just bought my very first Rolex on the 30th of May, bought a SubC with date. I’m hoping it will motivate him to get his own m!! He too was my inspiration for it. Plus my absolute love for luxury watches ;)
Wear it and enjoy it buddy!!

Thanks everyone. Only my fellow watch enthusiasts here can relate, I’m sure. My father came to this country as an immigrant to make a good life for his family, which he succceded in doing, through years of hard work. He grew up hoping to acquire two things (speaking of material things, aside from the well-being of his family): He wanted a Rolex and a Porsche. Eventually, he got both! Me getting my first Rolex is my milestone thus far!

That is a great looking Datejust. Don't knock yourself. You worked hard for it. Enjoy comparing with your dad.

As others have mentioned, there is no need to sell yourself short. This is a joyous moment to share a proud achievement with your father. I wish mine was still around for me to do the same. Congratulations

Nice shot. If only my father had the same value of Rolex as yours does. My father was a timex kinda guy.
