36 or 39. But you don't want 39, so 36.

Lol, thanks! #19 = The Greatest.

Your opinion on the 34 is in the minority, but like you, I have an old-fashioned sensibility. It's like, Johnny U would have worn a 34 or small-wearing 36, and it would have looked dinky on his wrist (by today's standards), but back then would have been a perfectly normal men's watch. Thanks for your advice!

I think Explorers are extremely cool!

Thanks, I wear a 14270 so I like 36 on my 7" wrist after wearing a 39 Ex and a Speedmaster and a 216570 - I'm a 36 man now

The OP 34 would be closest to the older 36 size, the new 36 is more 38

I don't think the 34 looks dinky on you, I think it looks "right"

Yes, thanks, I understand! In a Hodinkee review of the OP, they said exactly the same thing--if you like vintage-style 36mm watches, such as the Explorer, then you should consider a 34mm OP.

I wish Rolex still made the Explorer in 36mm, even with the new larger-wearing case! I've tried on a 39mm Explorer, and it didn't feel right for me.

I happen to like the the "maxi" case of the 36 dj, the 116200, which would be the same case as the OP 36, so there's that.

I also have tried on the olive green 34 OP and it looked/felt incredible, so thats the OP I'd choose.

I would also point out that most people are saying 36 but many of those are telling you to go 39 as well

You tried on the 39 and don't like it. I get it.

Don't listen to the ones telling you 36 but really it should be 39 - they're flat out wrong and have different tastes and you shouldn't care about their opinion

Go 34 and wear it with pride. In my opinion it's more "manly" to rock a 34 or 36 than it is a 42 or a Panerai.

Age old dilemma...lol..
Bottom line..get the one you like..
You have big forearms..so the 36 may look more in proportion..but more weighty too..
I have a 7.5" wrist..and have the 34 and luv it..
But got the 35 YM last week..and it wears even smaller than the 34mm..(10%) lighter in weight..
And I notice that..
And am not wearing the 34 right now..because of the weight and the bracelet is less comfy..than the 35 YM..
And the 34 seems huge now...lol..who would thunk..
Here is my comparison vid..
Good luck!

OP 39 wears very large, as does the Explorer1. These 2 both wear bigger than the Sub, which is 40mm.

There is little difference between 34mm and 36mm on the wrist. Check my latest thread I tried all of them as I recently bought a new watch.

As for the comfort on the wrist nothing can beat 34-36mm.
As I mentioned before, I would only consider 34 if I get the OP date which is excellent value for money.
Otherwise, OP36 is the one imo. If you ever get bored of it or want
to upgrade OP36 would be easier to sell and has better resale value.

I did not consider OP39 as at 39mm, Explorer 1 is the winner due to the superior clasp!

That was a good video! I'm glad you got the 35 YM--it was my favorite, and I think it fits you well (though you could also wear a 37, I believe).

Thanks for the advice!
