UK Price increase

Average 10% from Monday 2nd Feb, confirmed from two different AD sources today.

So a Sub Date will go up to about £ 3700 and a DJ 116234 to over £4,000.

Glad I bought last year before the last price hike - by doing so I saved about £1400 !!!

Others are right when they say that the best time to buy a Rolex is always now - prices are only ever going to go up.

it had to happen at some point, i think they tried to hold off for as long as they could, but 10% is not as bad as 15/20 as some of the other brands are going up by

It was going to happen, but the guesswork was when. Nice of them to advertise it

May hold off buying the next one until they are biting their fingernails later in the year. Our shopping centre,( and AD) is like a ghost town already. With the extra and no one buying or not as much going out the door as they wished it may be fill your boots time.

In fact its just been on the news that the UK is heading for the worst recession of all the developed nations.

If the prices continue to go up it will be second hand or I will buy something else. I always fancied a steam engine!

It is all getting a bit grim - just been speaking to my AD who informed me that they think the GMT-IIC will increase to about £4500!!! Glad I bought mine 18 months ago.

There are still some good pre-owned deals around - from the same AD I have just bought a 2 year-old Explorer II (White dial) with box/papers & RSC service papers etc for a little over half what is likely to be the new list price on Monday I will post some pics when I collect it next week (then it goes away for my 40th at the end of next month).

On Thursday it was going to be worse in the UK and on Friday they were saying Japan will be worse hit of all the developed nations because of a truly massive decline in manafacturing exports. Who ever thought Sony would declare a 95% loss ! The fact is all bets and predictions as to how this thing pans out are pretty worthless.

One things for sure - we are all heading South and no one country is going to be much better of than anyone else. Look at the riots and strikes in countries as disperate as France, Russia and Iceland.

Which makes these price hikes even more crazy.

Looks like the price hikes are not only on the actual base models premium dials / spares hiked too! my meteorite dial now commands an additional £2430 over and above the "base" WG Daytona same for the MOP dials an increase of £910 %???
