Rolex 5513 Gilt Acquired

I managed to score this nice Rolex Submariner 5513 with gloss gilt dial in a local jewelry n watch auction last week. I finally got the watch and am very happy with the purchase. Everything is original including the riveted bracelet. The dial is in great condition and the case is still thick with probably very light polishing. The only drawback is the bezel which has a few chips which can be replaced with a nice period correct used one. Overall, another great addition to my watch collection.

Congrats! Nothing beats a great purchase. Absolutely stunning given the age of the watch.

Many thanks for the compliment. I am a sucker for Rolex watches with gilt gloss dials.

Great watch! Keep the insert (long5) another one is going to cost you a fair bit.

I would keep the bezel insert as well.

I like the character.

Although i bought a nice used long 5 bezel already, i have decided to leave the original bezel wd the watch. You are right, it brings out the character of this 50 year old watch which was intended to be used by divers as a tool in their profession.
