Buying this 1601, love this color combo

How does this dial look ? Serial number puts it late 60's I think. Getting it later this week, cannot wait. I 've had a few Rolex's over the years but this one might be my favorite.

Great color combo... the essential Rolex Date just. Hope it gives you many years of service. IMHO the 1601’s are just about the best DJ’s around. Mine says “Hi” :

Not all 1601 had pi-pan dial. In any case, you can always retro-fit a later dial, which doesn’t affect model reference.

You’re wrong. They are not compatible. One will not fit into the other.

You’re quite right. I sometimes neglect to include my DJ’s full reference (16013) when typing from my IPhone, or from my computer keyboard. I should’ve typed, “My TT DJ 16013 says Hi. “
