Some I gain, some I loose . . .

I recently took my Expy 2 to be regulated in the RSC London due to the fact it was running +9 seconds per day consistently.

Now after a week, the watch is +2 seconds a day (usually a brief jump in the afternoon) but loosing - 2 seconds during the night. I sleep with my watch on.

I have heard of (and experienced many times before with my numerous other Rollies) that a watch would either gain or loose some time consistently. However, I have never come across a watch that would gain and loose about the same amount at the same time.

Is this unusual?

Thanks

The LOSS in time would depend a lot on the position of your wrist and hence the angle at which the watch is placed.

Crown DOWN usually results in a LOSS of time with most models. Crown UP will result in a GAIN.

Watch vertical crown down loose a few seconds, watch vertical crown up loose even more.To gain a few seconds watch flat dial up thats been my experience JJ with most watches. And Mirx your watch is well inside the COSC spec what more could anyone ask more from any mechanical watch just wear and enjoy your watch its fine.

Thanks JJ. I have come across the above statement a few times in the past but have personally never experienced with my 5 other Rolex watches a gain and the loss at the same time. God will now (and my partner!) I did spend some time observing them but somehow never noticed that positioning of the watch would have an effect on it's performance. Oh, well, perhaps, it's time for the first time!

Don't get me wrong, -2 and + 2 is still BANG ON within COSC so I am not complaining - just curious!!
