What time is it when...

your less than one year old GMTIIc just stops?

Other than time to get a new watch. Its 3:40 pm est. I've been wearing the watch all day (since 6 am) and I noticed that it was stopped. This has happened from time to time. Odd? Is there a winding procedure I should use? Anyone have this experience or do I just take it to a dealer for review and repair. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks

Wind the watch 40 times via the winding stem / crown. Sometimes there is not enough energy stored to keep it running especially if you don't have much activity during the day.

I have read in this forum that it depends on how active you are...wind it and see how it behaves in the next 40 hours!

How long are you going without wearing the watch and then putting it back on? If you are nearing 40-50 hours, you may be running out of power reserve....

Good one Jimbo.....Wind it and see if it runs for a couple days without stopping. if it stops before that...you have an issue and need it looked at by RSC

It really depends on whether your watch has stopped because:
(a) You did not wind it initially enough at the time you started to wear it;
(b) Your daily activity schedule is/was such that it does not generate enough wrist movement to wind your watch (this would be surprising as a very small level of activity is enough to power any Rolex in my experience);
(c) the watch is under warranty and needs some attention by the Rolex Service Centre to set it right.

You be the judge, but there is nothing lost by asking Rolex to look at it under warranty

I ve had similar problem with my dad's day date... since hes not a very active person and also rests his watch at night... so what I did was after the initial 40 winds , for almost 15 days i gave his watch around 10 - 15 winds in the night as his used to stop in the morning. I would suggest you try this for a week and then use the watch normally before going to the RSC.
