Rolex UK Dealers

After reading this forum and all the posts about people being able to get discounts for a Gold Rolex, or even that SS Daytona's are getting easier to find in the UK.

I thought it would be the right time to purchase my first Rolex and give me the feel that I did a good deal (makes it easier for the Credit Card).

I phoned up a couple of AD's today, to enquire availability of the SS daytona. Most said there was still a waiting list, who either added me and told me to expect a 1 to 2 year wait or just simply said no more waiting list manager decides on allocation when watches arrive. It seems the Daytona is still pretty scarce in the UK.

Concerning the discounts on Gold models, most stores are willing to do a 5% to 9% discount, but seems nothing unusual from what they were saying.

Now, I do realise this could be dealers not wanting to discuss this over the phone concerned Rolex could be checking them up. But from my calls, it seems difficult getting much out of UK dealers either in terms of difficult models availability or discounts.

Daytonas are easily available in Spore. Even saw a leopard Daytona with one of the ADs. Seems like there is no lack of supply in Spore.

You wont just ring up and find a SS Daytona in stock.

18K models, you should be getting 20% minimum, maybe 25% at the moment.

In Switzerland there is still a 5 year waiting list and close to no discount for Gold ones.

And to be fair if I can get it for cheaper in the UK or elsewhere why not take the chance to get that piece.

most AD's have said they keep them for valued customers, at least the SS daytonas. So guess I have to buy a White gold one first then I will get a SS? haha

I would love to know what AD's offer 25% on a Gold Daytona. Will call a few more dealers tomorrow and see. Guess the UK is not in a recession/depression after all.

Rolex in the last week have announced a price increase in UK roughly 10%. So dealers may be reluctant to discount existing stock,if they have not put up their prices anyway when I suppose they will be more willing to discount.

SS Daytonas are still almost impossible to come across at an AD in the UK.

As for discounts on 18ct versions, I doubt they would offer anything over 10%. Many ADs in the UK do not carry a great deal of gold Rolex and I've been told they will order them specially.

TT Sport models are really the only Rolex I have heard of being discounted by official Rolex AD's...in fact I was offered a TT Cos at a decent discount at the same place Martin bought his GMT...I declined...moths in me pockets!!!!

it seems to be the case, impossible to find even in this sever economic downturn a SS Daytona. I am quite happy to pay the new Daytona SS UK price (6170£). It seems like the Daytona is keeping is legendary collectors watch.

Funnily enough, most dealers seem to have the Gold Daytona in store, well at least the ones I spoke to, but are not willing to let them go. I guess there are still people out there buying them at full retail.

Look at the one on ebay V series 78590 bracelet that didn't sell previously but has been relisted with start at £5750....

Update: Latest price £6200 on ebay...

If you'd like, I can give you a contact at my local AD. Very long waiting lists on SS Daytonas, and no Gold Daytonas in stock, but it might be worth having a word with the manager. They're normally pretty reasonable with discount on 18Ct models.

understand your furstration. A few ad I have visited recently have at least a wg and/or tt daytona on display. No ss version though.

Have you consider uk grey dealers?

I live in London but I flew to luceren to get my LV because at the time there were no LVs in stock from all London dealers - and they were happy to put me on their waiting list with no discount. Got mine from bucherer with a discount and claim tax on the way back.

SwissKen - My AD has the SS Daytona and he sells it at MSRP of $9,925USD. I'm debating wether buying the SS Dayona or the SS&YG TT Daytona with 20% off ($10,720!).

@ESM, I have looked at Grey Dealers. I am not prepared to pay a premium on the SS Daytona. I have always wanted one, but never put my name on those long waiting lists or willing to pay for a premium. Grey dealers are quite interesting for the White Gold version, but unfortunately they don't offer the VAT refund (well at least the ones I have contacted)

@Phtai, you should go for the SS with no hesitation. In this sever economic downturn it's your chance to get a very nice watch which should be in any watch collection.

UK v Canadian market, what the OP is looking for is a UK discount, what a Canadian AD is willing to give isn't really relevant to be honest

Chenx15, what is the CAD price for a WG gold daytona? Does that include tax?
