Opinion between these two

After a lot of debating I decided to pull the trigger on the Deep Sea Sea Dweller after owning the SD 43 for over a year. I love everything about the watch, the gradient dial, the size, the engineering and everything that goes with it.

My question now is.......... Are these two watches too similar to be in the same collection??? My initial thought is that they are not.

I am open to opinions from the group.......

No they balance each other well. One has a touch of red and the other has a touch of blue.

If you can keep both I would - I would not be able to make up my mind with this one... tough question indeed.

Good luck!

You have said it yourselff ...

You love the Deep Sea.

you obviously love the SD as well.

It't YOU who wear and love the watches.

So It's just a bit obvious that you will be keeping both.

I prefer the DSSD JC and pretty sure I would not add an SD 43 even if I could source one. No they aren't the same, but to ME they are similar enough. I'd likely go for a GMT.

I think both of those watches could absolutely live together in a collection, two really incredible divers you have there...congrats

Both could certainly be kept. Great pair of divers you have there

What makes it your collection is your choices and preferences. No one else can choose your collection.

My perfect collection is my Submariner 14060M.

Someone else might have ten Rolex watches, and not a Submariner among them.

Choose what you like!

Similar... but not too. They actually compliment each other. If your a Sea Dweller fan why not. Some people have the same of each model. I have 3 Subs and 2 Gmts.

To me they are but to you they may not be. I keep around 5-6 watches and like too many to have two Rolex divers. Although in the past I have had several at once.

Both are gorgeous. Keep both if you like them and san afford both.

That said, if I had to choose one… It would be the deep sea.

First off, two great watches.

Since you mention no harm in keeping both then why not do that?

Later on, if you feel the redundancy and/or fall for another piece, you can move on from either of those quite easily.

My opinion is that it depends on the size of your current collection, and your plans for future expansion. If these are your only 2 watches, I think they are too similar. If you can only have 2 watches, you need a different piece like a GMT, Datejust, or Explorer I.
Your little bio indicates you have several other models, so in that case it's fine to keep both if you are able. Great Pieces!
