i saw the add, he was selling a daytona.

I would agree it could be a scam, but why on a SS daytona? MSRP is about $9,200 - he could get that on ebay and not have to do anything illegal.

Maybe the watch was fake?

he is offering a reward for the people who stole the watches -
on craigslist of course.
must not have been insured...

my guess is fake to get insurance $ otherwise he wouldnt have been to blatantly stupid
