Submariner 5513 advice

Hi all,

Looking for advice on this submariner 5513 serif dial on a rivet bracelet (end links say 80).

Case looks polished, but everything else looks untouched to my untrained eye...

Apologies for the quality of the photos I was unable to get macro shots.

It comes with box and papers although I wasn’t able get a photo of the papers I’ve attached an image of what they look like using a photo from the internet (they were hand written with the date and serial number).

Much appreciated

Early 5513s would have been without the fold over clasp. In 1969 they got the new clasp - but before that it was tuna clasps.

A nice history of the Oyster bracelet, along with a reference to Subs is at:

Pretty terrible advice. No offense.. It has some wear but it is far from bad.

On-topic: Show us better pics over the lugs. Not just straight from the front or side.

Nice serif dial, and cool rivet bracelet, which could indeed be correct for this watch. Rivets were available on Subs up through most of the '70s. Case actually doesn't look too bad to my eyes, and the crown guards still look quite fat.

What's the beginning of the serial number?

As for the guarantee paper, if it's hand-written, not punched, I wouldn't pay a premium for it, even though it could be 100 percent authentic.
