that and most other watches from more than 10 years ago... the whole swiss watch industry was built around women’s watches apparently. |

The (a) point of this thread is to help others choosing the right RO. I have 20+ watches from 37mm to 43mm incl the 15450 and 15400. The 15450 is a weird watch and imo cannot be compared with anything. It doesnt wear like a pre-ceramic, daytona or exp1. So try it before you buy. |

This is the most reasonable response you’ve put out there in regards to the 15450. All of the other ones saying individual preference doesn’t matter were just silly. Now, just cut out the snarky judgment on other people’s preferences. |

great to see this thread still alive... although some comments have taken a bit of a turn.
but if nothing else, i do think it's a signal that the 15450 (regardless of the ongoing size debate) is gaining in popularity, if not at least sheer interest. on a side note, and sadly, all the pieces I've modeled in this comparison are no longer with me. |

PERSONALLY, my individual preferences tell me that I think a 15400 is way too big for lots of sub-8” wrists (AP probably agreed with me prior to 2012), and also that your sock analogy is silly and unhelpful. that said, I only have 13 watches from 34mm to 43mm (including a 15450) so not sure if that’s quite enough to disagree with you... I do own loads of socks and dress shoes but sometimes in summer I don’t wear socks at all—maybe I’m completely crazy! |

Rubbish. But that’s my opinion. Would a Patek 3940 or 3970 also be a female’s watch, at 1mm even smaller? |

personally, I think adults who post (repeatedly) on a watch collector forum only to tell other adults "they're wearing a female's watch" and "shouldn't" sound like 12 year-olds (and shouldn't). but that's my opinion! |

to those who are making comments about the size being indicative of male vs female oriented, how does this logic fit with the 36mm DD president?
i am a fan of the classic 36mm, used to have one as shown originally in this comparo thread. and, in fact, looking for 118206 DD in PT . arguably considered, or at least marketed as, a men's watch... yet smaller than the 15450. |

Echoing sentiments of others, this is completely wrong as 15500 wears so much larger than its size suggests. The 15450 wears more like 40mm, which fits much more in line with what most “average” wrists can hold. Similarly, I tried on the 38mm ROC and it fits much better than the 41mm ROC, by a large margin. I'm with you! I have a 15450 and love it--I think maybe you meant to respond to someone else...

Great. To all male owners of the 15450, i look forward to your incoming of the royal oak offshores of the likes of the 26231or. After all, a 42mm ROO won’t look good so surely a 37mm ROO will.
I’ll be there to congratulate you! Remember we don’t care about who the watches are marketed for as long as they fit. Right? |

of course. because if a person likes any 37mm watch they’ll obviously like every other 37mm watch too. shrewd! though not sure if I believe that you’ll be congratulating anyone; I reckon you’ll probably be livening up the “incoming” threads with great one-liners like “that’s a females watch you shouldn’t wear it”. |

alas, you’re probably right but it’s a shame. the day date should always and only be 36mm in my opinion. |

Instagram user @csumananda has these great comparison shots, speaking of 36mm Rolexes. The Explorer is the 36mm 114270.
Seems to me that the 15450 has a similar dial size to 40mm Rolex sport watches. My main issue with the 15450 for my 7" wrist isn't the diameter but the angle of the lugs. The angle is steeper than those on the 14790 despite being larger. That means it doesn't sit flush on larger wrists. (The full Instagram post: https://www.instagram.com/p/BrHlRSWH_WC/) |

great shots. as to the lugs I’ve not noticed to be honest but I have a smaller wrist... I’ll make note of it the next time I put the watch on. |
