Service crown vs original crown

Hi everyone,

Opening this thread to get your opinion regarding the price impact you would expect on a beautiful 1680 that is all original except for the crown which would be a 703 instead of the original 702.

Waiting for your opinions/advices.

Kind Regards ! :)

Original parts are nice. But it's better to ensure that your case remains without water infiltration.

The crown change IMO has little overall effect on value.

Would have zero impact to me. 702 and 703 are v. similar

Original twin-lock crown/tube sets costs around $500-$750 depending on condition.

From my experience, most guys that are vintage Sub collectors do not give it much thought. Rolex and/or watchmakers were known to have replaced many twin lock sets with the trip lock sets when the trip locks became available.
