Congrats but do you think you will eventually trade it for SS?

No buyer's remorse there!

Didn't see this thread originally. Congrats on the stunning WG Daytona, OP!

SS isn't even on my wish list anymore. I would be very tempted by a PM Ceramic Daytona on bracelet though.

I don’t understand the oyster flex hate (I know, a strong word). In my short tenure of collecting and, IMHO, those who make references to price, want one but can’t get one for whatever reason...OR they are trying to justify over-paying for SS. If you don’t like it, or it’s not your cup of tea, just say that

The day has come, I finally picked up the White Gold Daytona on Oysterflex (116519LN)! With the shortage of SS Daytona Ceramic watches, I became intrigued by the PM Daytonas. With the insane after market pricing of the SS Ceramic Daytona, the PM Daytona seemed like an excellent value. I’ve been back and forth for months thinking about going for the PM Daytona versus paying inflated pricing for the SS DaytonaC.

I wasn’t sure how I would feel about rocking the Oysterflex on my wrist, but I love it so much! It’s light, flexible, and comfortable. I don’t need to worry about scratching up the PCLs of the bracelet. The wings on the underside of the strap keep the watch centered. I also love how low-key the white gold and rubber strap combo are together. This is a watch that doesn’t scream “look at me!” The white gold seems to change color in different lighting - from bright stainless steel in appearance to almost a subtle warm yellow gold tone. I briefly entertained the idea of the rose gold piece but decided white gold was the best fit for me.

Thank you to all the forum members that chimed in and answered all my questions about the Daytona on Oysterflex. I loved looking at all the gorgeous photos shared. You guys really know how to enable someone on the fence to go through with their decision!

I also wanted to take a moment to thank my wonderful wife for being on board with this purchase. She’s felt comfortable with me buying different watches in the past, but nothing at this price point. I was even considering selling my SubC Date but my wife commented about how much she knows I love my Submariner as it is my first Rolex. She encouraged me to keep the Sub and buy the Daytona.

Interesting as this pic does not look like the white gold one, def has more of a gold tone

The Rolex white gold has such a soft warmth to it. It is really hard to describe. While stainless steel stays shiny, this white gold seems to change color depending on the light.

this reminds me of the white and gold or blue and black dress set of pictures.

Congrats ... however even with the inflated price i think 500 is still a better buy.

That’s an interesting view, probably different to most on here... care to expand on why? (Genuinely interested)

Fantastic watch, but your photo is of a yellow gold as another poster says. I had the same issue finding a SS, so decided to buy the white gold version too. Love the OF so much!

Thought I would add a photo of mine for reference. And its a good excuse to post it.....

Very nice daytona. I have been wearing the white 500 for 1.5years and thinking of trading it with this exact one. First interested in the new everose choco, but I think this WG dial is more versatile. The case and dial changes depending on the lighting and that is a very nice thing to see.

This watch is definitely white gold! I can see how it comes across as yellowish in my first post. I need to photograph my watches in better lighting.

Mine as well! Although, as a post and thread earlier this week suggested, the Daytona itself is less impressive in person than in pics and seems “smallish”...just MHO
