Which would you go for? Patek 5164A-001 or 5960/1A-010

Just thinking about my next piece, and would really appreciate some help and guidance from the forum.

Will likely sell my 5167a and add cash for either of the new pieces (will be bought via grey market).

Which would you go for and why? The 5164A-001 or the 5960/1A-010? Both trade at similar prices.

I had considered the 5960p but I think the black dial steel chrono sings to me more.
Still....the 5960p is also in the mix...

I love both these steel refs for different reasons but can only own one....

Been thinking the same thing but trading up I assume sell 5167 at current market price and put it towards a retail priced 5164.
I would be torn between a retail 5164 and 5712.
In you poll a 5164 wins for me as it just feels more suited to my lifestyle and I love being able to take a swim with my watches on.

Safest buy 5164

Cooler buy 5960/1a

Closer to patek DNA: 5960p

Just edited my thread. Just to clarify, I’d sell the 5167a and add cash to purchase either the 5164 or 5960 on the grey market. I have other watches I can swim in and also have a couple of vintage Rolex pieces (1665drsd and 1675) so have a couple of different daily pieces.

Why not just keep the 5167a? I would keep that vs add either

Classic time only

5960/1A was the most complicated steel Patek which was in regular production. However I wouldn't pay a premium for the perceived rarity of 5960/1A-010. Couple of years ago 5960/1A-014, the rarest of all 5960/1a was sold below MSRP. I would consider buying a 5960/1A -001 at retail from an AD.

None.....

Since you have 5167 & 1675....

I would add a SS Daytona.....

It would be a killer trio......

On the wait list for one of those, so I’m good on the Daytona

Love the 64, never really warmed to the 5960s.

I’ve been searching for a 5960/1A-010 for some time now and hope to have snagged one, love the watch having had the white one but let it go to fund a grand compilation, needs necessitated at the time but I always wanted it back, then the black dial game along...its a wow watch imo, i normally preferring a white dial, but the black is something else. I thought it would have the same production run as the white so I didn’t jump on one straight away to my loss. Finding one under £50k or USD 60k isn’t easy, not many owners want to sell. There’s only 8 for sale on Chrono24 however you perceive that as a indication and they ain’t cheap. 1 Year production, I see it as rare and one to watch, it’s such a comfortable watch to where and you want see many of wrists, so it gets my vote, all the above just imo of course only.

If I'm in your shoes, I would stick with my original advice.... "None"

But if force to pick one... It would be the 5164.....
