Daytona Dilemma
Hi All!
I'm currently facing a dilemma and wanted your advice! I've recently started a relationship with a family run AD (purchased a two-tone ladies DJ) and will be in the market in the next few months for a full gold ladies DJ. Separately for myself, I am in the market for the Yellow Gold Daytona (Green dial) which the AD expects to receive early 2021 -_- I've scouted other AD's who've offered to bundle the Gold DJ with the Daytona (delivery Q1 2020) but I prefer buying from the AD that I've already started a relationship with (albeit, only 1 watch). My gut feeling is to wait (up to 12 months longer) and continue my relationship with the AD (since they offer other brands i.e. Patek). However, if you were in the same position, would you just choose the AD that is offering the quickest route to the watch you want? |

If it was me I would do business with the AD that get's the watch first. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.

If it's not an inconvenience to travel to either AD I would buy from whomever has the pieces I would like to purchase. I doubt anyone can say the Daytona green dial is expected to be arriving first quarter 2021. Sad to say, but a green dial Daytona has probably already been on offer to the AD's long term clients. Good luck, maybe you will be writing your incoming story soon about how you got your Daytona.

I'd go with whichever AD can get the watch first.

As long as you are not underhand in the way you deal with either of the ADs, I do not think there is anything wrong in using a different AD to get you your piece more quickly. Sometimes it's better not to put all your eggs in one basket and life is short, so get the watch you want and enjoy it.
You can always buy the one after the Daytona from your original AD and continue your relationship there. |

Yes, but I'd make sure they aren't screwing me over. So if they want to sell you the Gold DJ with the Daytona, they gotta do it simultaneously, not sell you the DJ now and the Daytona god knows when.

I would not put much stock in the promise of a watch to be delivered in 2021. That to me means you're real low on the "list"

Pull the trigger with the AD who calls you 1st.
Nothing wrong with having good relationships with two ADs |

I have two ADs which I have purchased from, three at one and two at another. My SA at my closer one states that yes it's good to build a relationship with us but the way things are with Rolex, if you get the call from another AD for a piece you're waiting for, grab it.
