August 2019 Central London Rolex Shopping was a Success (no professional watches in any London shops)
Spend today (15th August 2019) visiting most of Rolex authorized dealers in Central London (Knightsbridge, New Bond Street, Old Bond Street, Oxford Street) and choose myself a lovely DATEJUST 41 with white dial and smooth bezel. I did my best to attend to knock some pennies off the list price; but no joy. Only in one shop did they have a professional model in, which was a Yacht Master in steel and Everose gold. I overheard a conversation in an AD on New Bond Street that the waiting list for professional watches is two years; and that the list(s) have been closed now as the wait is too long. All very strange that Rolex choose to market the professional range, yet for whatever reasons are controlling supply. Feel sorry for the ADs as they must be losing sales because of this. Not good for anyone really. Guess Rolex want to charge more for selling less. To be honest most Rolex gent’s watches had the two tone everose bracelet; which I’m personally not a fan of. If you want a two tone everose you have plenty to choose from. With the datejust 41 in steel, only Harrods had them in stock; and only two of them. A white dial and silver dial one (I think). I went for the white datejust 41 as that simply was just the one for me. 1250.jpg Lots of shops had a selection of the smaller size in though; if that’s what you are after. |
