Sapphire replacement
Hi guys,
My cyclops has some damage. I am aware that you cant just replace the cyclops and the entire sapphire needs to be replaced, which is luckily not too expensive. Was wondering if the replacement is pretty straight forward or if the watch needs to be serviced to perform this replacement. Does the crown need to be removed? Any insight is helpful. |

I'm pretty sure that the watch doesn't necessarily require a full service to change out the crystal, although Rolex will surely recommend one.
I'm not certain about the crown being removed, but I rather suspect that that would be necessary to remove the movement.

The crystal can be replaced for around $250-300. If you are in New York call the RSC and see if you can drop it off. Typically it takes a short time to do this replacement. I had it done within the last few months and I took the watch on Tuesday and got it back on Friday.

Movement has to be taken out completely, so yes the crown as well. Why would that matter?
