Yes. They were fine. Actually seemed to appreciate the call. Got a call on another piece six months later from the same AD. Picked that one up.

I had 2 AD’s give me the call for the same watch within 3 days
I asked to be placed on a waitlist on 29 JUL 19, with one AD. He had me fill out a form, which I watched him input into a computer. I have no previous history with this AD.
I then happened into another AD on 10 AUG 19, struck up a conversation and had an instant rapport with this AD. She stated if I put a deposit down she would be able to secure me the Rolex I was seeking. So I put 50% down, and was told I could possibly purchase the timepiece in a couple of months. On 21 AUG 19, I get the call from the AD I placed the deposit with, and immediately made the purchase. On 24 AUG 19, the first AD I had contact with gave me the call leaving both a voicemail and text stating he had the timepiece I wanted and could hold the watch for a day before moving on to the next person on the list. I text back the second AD and explained I just made the purchase for the watch, and that I appreciated him contacting me, but to remove me from that particular timepiece waiting list. He responded congratulations on securing my new Rolex, and that if he could be of future service to please contact him. Quite an unbelievable situation, I’m still in disbelief! Tomorrow I’m going to go out and buy a lottery ticket! |

I was on my AD's waitlist for the new BLRO, received "the call," looked at the watch, told my AD to offer the BLRO to the next person on his list and take my name off the list.

Yes, I was on the list for a TT CHNR. Rang him and told him I wasn’t interested anymore after a few weeks. He didn’t really care. It’s been a few months now and it’s starting to grown on me again lol

If I am certain, that I was already on the fictional wait list, then I would never tell the AD to remove me from this fictional list. My.02.

If the wait list is longer than a year, my AD will ask for a small deposit when the watch is (in their estimation) 12 months or less away. They say that most people drop off at this point. You will then get a call when the watch is in. They usually only have to make one phone call. But not always. I was on the list for a Tudor Pepsi in third place. I gave them a deposit. A couple of months later I decided to go for a Z-Blue which I saw in their window. I transferred my deposit and asked them to take me off the Tudor list. This has not, so far as I know, affected my relationship with my AD one way or the other. We buy other stuff from them so it's not an entirely Rolex based relationship.

I wouldn't worry about taking yourself off the list. The AD is not going to care if you do get their call and you decline. They will sell the watch with in the next phone call most likely.
