Shipping a Rolex to Singapore?

Hi! Does anyone on TRF have experience sending a Rolex to Singapore? I just sold one of my Rolexes on Chrono24 and the buyer is there and I’ve not shipped there before. I know USPS won’t let you sent a watch International Priority Express mail. What about other carriers? Thanks!

I'm from Singapore and I wanna get a watch from chrono as well. Which country are you from?

The receiver pays GST.

And Fedex can normally be used. Make sure it is insured for the correct amount as some fingers may be long at Fedex.

I have bought a few watches from EU and USA when I was in Singapore. Without selecting a particularly super-fast shipping option as I recall... Both FedEx and USPS. And I have also shipped to Singapore from EU where I am currently located.

If you use FedEx from USA, Fedex will import, clear customs, and deliver locally. If you use USPS (or whichever 'national' mail carrier if you are in any other part of the world), they will bring to SG, clear customs, and pass along to SingPost for local delivery. The tracking number remains the same but you can now track it on both USPS and SingPost websites.

The receiver pays about 7% GST (aka VAT) of the value of the item. Oh, wait: of the declared value of the item...

Typically, the box arrives to the receiver and the same day or a few days later, a letter from customs/FedEx/carrier arrives requesting you (the receiver) pay associated import fees (if any). Unlike Denmark, for example, where the box is being held at customs until you pay the associated import fees first.

All in all, it's pretty straightforward.

Your dealer will set the declared value to what they sold it to you for as their arse is on the line, if the watch goes missing and they need to get the insurance company involved.
